CALM. FOCUSED. INFORMED.
You have the right to feel informed, supported and have a calm mind and body when you birth you baby!

WHAT I DO
Do you want to feel mentally prepared, calm and confident and able to trust your body? Here is what I do:

A CALM AND CONFIDENT PREGNANCY
Antenatal sessions with both you and your partner, during which we address your fears and worries, talk about informed consent and what your dream birth could look like.

A STRONG BODY AND MIND
Practicing birth positions to help you and your baby move with ease during birth. Repeating powerful affirmations to make you feel calm and capable.

A POWERFUL BIRTH EXPERIENCE
Grounded, continuous support from the first contractions all the way through to meeting your baby - offering kindness, encouragement and making sure your wishes are respected.

A POSITIVE POSTPARTUM PERIOD
Debriefing the birth, warm nourishing meals, healthy snacks and hot drinks, (breast)feeding support, gentle tension releasing exercises and space for all your postpartum feelings.
IF THESE FEEL LIKE YOU
"I had a difficult experience with the birth of my first baby"

"I am pregnant after IVF and feel anxious and worried"

"I am pregnant with my first baby and don't know what to expect"
"I have heard too many negative birth stories and want my birth to be positive"
"I want a home birth and a doula to help me with this"

"I want both me and my partner to feel supported and informed"

I CAN HELP!

About Me
Dutch doula who has lived in Scotland for over a decade, mum to two boys, farm partner, birth-nerd and life-long learner
Hi I'm Frey!
I'm the oldest of four and was born and raised in a close-knit family in The Netherlands. I got married to my Scottish husband and moved to a farm in the beautiful Scottish Borders in 2013.
I'm a mum to two energetic farm boys. Caring for animals and people has always come naturally to me as my background is in veterinary medicine and research. In my spare time I love reading books, playing tennis and spending time with all our animals.
I trained as a trauma-informed, full spectrum doula in 2022 with the wonderful Alex Burner from 'The Original Birth Connection' and have supported multiple women through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. I have also undertaken further training in birth biomechanics, food and fertility, tongue tie, rebozo, hypnobirthing as well as completing NHS breastfeeding peer-support training.
I have experience with both home births and hospital births across three different hospitals, from physiological hands-off births to births involving epidurals and more monitoring.
Whatever birth looks like for you,
I am there to support your choices without judgement or agenda.
I want you to feel informed, listened to and confident in the decisions you make.
